For decades, Finnish company Raisio led the way in pioneering sustainable health food. Known for its Elovena® and Benecol® brands, the company holds a strong international presence with exports to over 40 countries. To continually innovate its business operations, the company identified order processing as an area for improvement. Being labor-intensive and time-consuming, its processing workflow made it ideal for an AI-driven solution.
Raisio often receives sales orders in different formats, sometimes with files attached and in different languages. Their challenge was efficiently accessing and sharing orders in the company’s System, Applications and Products in Data Processing (SAP) software. The goal was to find innovative solutions for process automation while expanding its internal AI expertise.
Streamlining sales order processing with AI-powered automation
With CGI’s guidance and collaboration, Raisio tested two AI-based methods to automatically recognize and transfer order information into their SAP system. After a three-month testing phase, they piloted the solution with customer order processes requiring the highest amount of manual work. Automating the process resulted in reduced human errors and significantly faster order processing.
